Question:

Can Channel Visions new NVR work with third party cameras?

Answer:

The new NVR-04N has a couple of camera stream settings that if supported by your third party camera, will allow the camera to integrate. The first setting is ONVIF, this is a standard that many cameras support and will allow you to pull the stream of the camera into the NVR for recording. Please note you will not be able to record based on motion when using this setting. The second setting is an RTSP mode. If your camera supports RTSP (real time stream protocol) you can set the camera up to output this stream and select this mode when adding the camera to the NVR-04N. Again, you will not be able to record based on motion when using this particular mode of camera stream. With ONVIF and RTSP you can record 24/7. Some third party cameras may be able to fully integrate, but as Channel Vision manufactures our own line of IP cameras we cannot guarantee full integration with any other brand other than our own.
