Question:

The IR-5010 is working fine using the standard emitters that you supply. Two of my pieces of equipment have mini pin IR input ports on them, and I was hoping to be able to do a direct wired connection from the repeater hub to those pieces of equipment. That is not, however, working. I am using mono mini pin cable, on which the pin configuration seems to be the same as on the pins for the emitters. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Answer:

The most likely cause of this issue is because you are using a mono to mono pin cable, and often times to transition into third party units you need a mono to stereo pin cable. Channel Vision sells these types of cables, they are called IR Bypass Cables, model # IR-4180. Please click on the following link to view the product. This has 3.5mm pin to 3.5mm pin. If the mini pin IR input ports require a different size you may need to do some web research to find the correct cable type.
